Homeless Ministry

What are these ministries about?

There is a great need in Oklahoma for helping people who find themselves homeless or in low-income situations and are in need of a helping hand.  We share Christ’s love by providing a meal and other donated goods to our local community.  In addition, we partner with Ice Angels Mosaic to provide meals and donated goods at a downtown location.

How can I help?

Donations for hygiene bags and non-perishable food items are always welcome.  Gently used clean clothes, new socks, hats, gloves, and scarves for winter, as well as specialty items such as tents, and sleeping bags are greatly appreciated.  In the summer months, we need sunscreen and lip balm.  Disposable rain ponchos are a welcome donation in any season.

Donations can be left at QSUMC Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm or contact one of the team members below for additional drop-off times or if you have any further questions.

Monetary donations are gratefully accepted.  Checks can be dropped off or mailed to the Church.  They should be made out to Quail Springs United Methodist Church with Homeless Ministry written on the memo line.

If you would like to help in a more personal way, join us for meal prep, meal service or clean up every Thursday for our local meal program, and the 4th Wednesday of each month when we prepare and serve the meal for the Ice Angels group.  We hope you find, as we have, that this ministry is not just a blessing for those who receive the meals but for those who prepare them.

Where do I go to help?

Meals are prepared starting at 9:00 am every Thursday and the 4th Wednesday of each month in the QSUMC kitchen at 14617 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City.  Ice Angels meals are served at Crossbridge church at 11th and Walker.  On-site prep starts at 12:00 pm.  Meal service starts around 12:30 and lasts about an hour.  We return to the QSUMC kitchen at about 1:30 pm for cleanup.

We hope you find, as we have, that this ministry is not just a blessing for those who receive the meals and donated items, but for those who prepare and deliver the meals and donated items.
