Quail Springs United Methodist Church Prayer Garden and Memorial Book
The idea of a Prayer Garden began in 2002 with the dedicated help of Linda Bowman. As leaders Linda and Sam led the committee to plan the Garden and with hard work and generous Memorial donations, the Garden began in the spring of 2005. The Garden includes the deck, Labyrinth and gazebo, plus a lot of landscaping.
The Memorial Book was put together by the Quail Springs Faithbooking Group to remember all the people in whose name the donations for the garden were made. The books are placed on the north wall of the Narthex on an old pulpit that was donated to the church for the purpose of displaying the books. The pulpit came from a Methodist Church in Stonewall, OK where it was built in the early 1920's and used in that church until it was demolished in the 1990's.
Volume I of the Memorial Books tells the story of the Prayer Garden and the pulpit. The book continues with a brief history of all the people who are memorialized through donations made in their honor. We are now on our third volume and we will continue to include any person a church member would like to be remembered. Donations honoring a loved one are welcomed and will be used to support the growth and maintenance of the Prayer Garden. If you wish to add a page, you will be contacted for information necessary to add a page honoring your loved one.
If you have not browsed through the book, be sure to stop by and enjoy the stories.
